What types of certification exist?
  • Mandatory product certification.

Any product that was not produced on the territory of Russia and is imported into the territory of the Russian Federation is subject to mandatory certification.

Mandatory certification covers 80% of the entire range of imported goods, especially clothing, equipment, electronics, household appliances and food products.

In other words, product certification is needed for products that come into contact with a person on a daily basis. It is important for the certification body to conduct tests and make sure that the goods imported into the territory of the Russian Federation do not contain harmful substances and do not threaten life and health.

What documents are usually required by customs?
  • Declaration of conformity. This document is required most often.   • The certificate of state registration is the second most requested document. The certificate is needed for customs clearance of the following types of imports: food products, cleaning products, building materials for interior decoration, etc.
  • Another required document is a certificate of conformity. It is required for customs clearance.
